Most commercially produced cleaning products contain a range of artificial fragrances, solvents and preservatives which harm human health, animals and the environment. Natural alternatives to chemical products are just as effective for cleaning your home and workplace. Here is a list of what we use.
1. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
Mineral made from soda ash. Absorbs odors and is mildly abrasive.
2. Coconut Oil Soap
Hand crafted soap made from saponified coconut oil.
3. Washing soda (sodium carbonate)
Relative of baking soda, but more strongly alkaline.
4. Oxygen Whitener (Sodium Percarbonate)
Color safe bleach alternative, stain remover, laundry wash boost and fabric brightener.
5. Hydrogen peroxide
Bleach substitute in place of chlorine. Can discolor some fabrics if left on them too long.
6. Castile soap
Vegetable-based soap.
7. Essential Oils*
Liquid distilled by steam or water from leaves, stems, flowers, bark or roots of plant. Natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
8. Grapefruit Seed Extract
A powerful antibacterial.
9. Vegetable Glycerin
Compound derived from vegetable based oil with strong humectant properties.
10. Grain Alcohol
Alcohol made by fermenting and distilling grain.
11. Citric Acid
Crystalline acid primarily derived by fermentation from lemon, lime, and pineapple juices.
12. Vinegar
Neutralizes odor, softens fabric and prevents clothes from fading.
13. Olive Oil
Yep, the kind you cook with!
14. Distilled Water
Natural water usually contains microscopic contaminants, dissolved minerals and iron. Distilled Water is water that has been boiled until it changes to steam. When the steam is allowed to cool down and condense into liquid form again, the result is a purified water with no additional gases, minerals, or contaminants.
15. Sodium (Salt)
Sea and solar salt crystals used to soften naturally.
16. Borax (sodium borate)
Alkaline mineral. Another miracle cleaner while safe to go back into the environment, it is an eye irritant and can be toxic if swallowed. Always keep out of the reach of children and animals.
*We use a variety of essential oils in our facility and cannot guarantee cross contamination of oils. If you are allergic or sensitive to a particular oil, please be aware of this before purchasing.
